I want for once in my life to have the power to mould a human destiny.
Hailstone Productions, in association with Edinburgh University's Scandinavian Society, bring Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen’s brilliant, satirical and controversial ‘Hedda Gabler’ to the Adam House Theatre, offering a naturalistic production.
Still as morally ambiguous and as paradoxical as when it was first performed, Ibsen’s ruthless exposure of class conflict and gender discrimination remains highly relevant today, as does his timeless exploration of the volatile power of love and hate, of hope and despair, of artistic creation — and of nihilistic destruction.
It is not a play to miss.
